Firefighters attend an incident in Bridge Street on Wednesday morning. INUS0713-FIRE

TWO adults and a six-month-old baby were taken to hospital on Wednesday morning following a fire at Bridge Street.

Two fire crews from Lisburn Fire Station and one appliance from Cadogan Fire Station were called to the scene at a second floor flat premises at 8.43am, which was heavily smoked logged.

The occupants were out of the flat by the time the crews arrived. The smoke was due to a defective hearth.

The occupants were taken to hospital by ambulance as a precaution for smoke inhalation. Fire crews dealt with the incident by 9.50am.
