Local talent selected to represent NI on world stage

Several members of Lisburn and District Dog Training Club (DTC) have been selected to represent Northern Ireland in the Inter-Regional Obedience competition at Crufts.

Crufts, the world’s largest dog show, is due to take place at the NEC, Birmingham from March 9 - 12.

The members of the local club who will be competing in the Inter-Regional Obedience competition are Bronagh Walsh and Zeus, a Shetland Sheepdog; Lisa Craig and Poppy, a Golden Retriever; and Kate McCartney and Truly, a Border Collie.

Michael McCartney, the Team Manager, will also be making the trip to Crufts.

Another member of Lisburn and District DTC, Sarah Kilpatrick, has qualified in the YKC Agility event at Crufts.

A club spokesperson said: “The best of luck to all of the members of Lisburn and District DTC. Hopefully they’ll add to the previous successes of fellow members over the years.”
