Lisburn Mayor Margaret Tolerton is to hold a spectacular Ulster Scots Concert on Thursday, April 17 at Lagan Valley Island.

It will see a trio of musical entertainment featured including Dynamic Brass, the Harry Ferguson Memorial Pipe Band and Mourne Young Defenders who will perform a variety of music on this special evening.

Tickets cost £10 and proceeds will go to the Mayor’s Charity, the Lagan Valley Diabetes Fund.

Lisburn Mayor said: “I hope the local community will come out and support this cultural evening and enjoy the musical performances on offer.

“By doing so a very worthy charity will benefit and my aim as Mayor is to raise as much money as possible for the Lagan Valley Diabetes Unit.

“The Lagan Valley Diabetes Fund provides invaluable support to sufferers of diabetes in the Lisburn area, so local people will benefit directly by attending this event.

“Each of us know someone who suffers from diabetes and for many who do this condition is a constant struggle.

“I know only too well how debilitating this condition is as I have been a diabetes sufferer all my life.

“I am very grateful to the bands who will be participating in the Ulster Scots Concert and appreciate their contribution to this Mayoral event. “

Tickets are available from Lagan Valley Island Box Office by contacting 028 9250 9254 or logging onto www.tickets.lisburncity.gov.uk
