Thank-you Lisburn: City residents raise funds for Heart Foundation

British Heart Foundation NI would like to thank the people of Lisburn for turning their unwanted boots, bags and books in to help their life-saving work.

That includes 27 Heartstart schemes, which teach emergency life support and CPR training to local schools and businesses.

Volunteering hours, donations and purchases by local people in towns and cities such as Lisburn has raised a staggering £149,000 over the past year - money which has helped to support over 100 healthcare professionals across Northern Ireland, including 19 in Lisburn.

Philip Kee, BHF Northern Ireland Area Support Manager, says: “We’re truly overwhelmed with the ongoing generosity of the local community in Lisburn.

“People often don’t realise that the dress or book they donate to or buy from their local BHF Northern Ireland shop actually raises vital funds and helps pay for anything from an echo machine in their local hospital to funding a local researcher.”

BHF Northern Ireland’s Lisburn shop is on Bow Street and offers a free collection service for donations that can be booked over the phone by calling 02892 670 793.
