The first public consultation meeting on the new Community Plan for Seymour Hill and Conway has taken place.
On Monday evening Jonathan Craig MLA and Councillor Yvonne Craig attended the meeting in Killamakee Leisure Centre to make residents aware their views are to be sought on how community, leisure and other private facilities on the estate can be moved forward.
Community, church and youth groups, sporting clubs and the public are being asked for views and opinions as on needs of the estate, via email, social media and leaflet dropping.
Mr Craig said: “New and exciting developments are both underway and due to start in the estate.
“Already we have the private development of the new nursing home and new church at the Church of Ireland site in the centre of the estate plus the proposed development of 90 new social homes and new leisure facilities on the old Dunmurry High School site, developments worth in excess of £10 million.
“On top of this we are looking to see the Willow Gardens site developed and old Seymour House site. Talks are ongoing with the owners of both sites to see how we can move them forward.”
