The festive spirit was very much alive at Kingsway Private Nursing home as residents were recently treated to visits by various members of the local community, including a very special guest.
In just one of the many events held in Care Circle Homes over the Christmas period, the residents were surprised by the Mayor of Lisburn, Councillor Margaret Tolerton, entertained by local school choirs, and given a visit by Santa Claus himself.
The residents and staff at Kingsway were thrilled to receive their guests, in particular Santa who handed out a few early presents for under the tree. The Mayor was also willing to share her mayoral chain with many of the senior citizens, allowing them each a brief moment in office. In addition to these treats, the school choirs proved a winner with many emotional residents showing great appreciation for the talent shown by their young guests.
Manager Sharon Loane said: “It was great to see the residents so animated and getting into the spirit of Christmas. The visits gave the home a particularly Christmassy feel and were the perfect way to enter the holiday season. We are so grateful not just to the Mayor and Santa, but to the school choirs and young people who have given up their time to come in and entertain everyone at this very important time of the year.”
