A man and woman appeared in Lisburn Magistrates Court this week to face a number of firearms charges.

Ciaran James Kelly, 27, from Islandbawn Street in Belfast and 21 year old Aisling Corrigan from Rossnareen Avenue, Belfast, appeared in court charged with possession of ammunition in suspicious circumstances, possession of component parts of a pipe bomb and possession of an imitation fireman, namely a blank firing pistol, with the intent that it might cause another person to believe that violence would be used against them.

Kelly also faced a charge of possession of a Class B drug, namely benzocaine and MDPV.

Prosecution sought an adjournment of the case until September 8 to allow for the completion of a forensic report in relation to the ammunition.
