R-SPACE Gallery in Castle Street is presenting a group exhibition that will explore how mathematical concepts underpin craft techniques and artistic development entitled ‘Beauty Is The First Test - Contemporary Craft And Mathematics’.
The exhibition, which previews on Tuesday, February 5, from 2-4pm, including a Curator’s talk at 3pm, attempts to demystify a subject that sometimes intimidates both adults and children, that of art and mathematics.
‘Beauty is the First Test’ will draw together existing and new artworks by artists Michael Brennand-Wood, Suresh Dutt, Janice Gunner, Lesley Halliwell, Lucy McMullen, Janette Matthews, Peter Randall Page, Ann Sutton and Laura Thomas.
Everyone is welcome to attend the preview, please phone and book a place for the Curator’s talk at 3pm on 028 9266 3179, thereafter the show continues at R-Space 32 Castle Street until Saturday March 2. The gallery opening hours are Wednesday-Saturday from 11am-5pm.
