AFTER 70 years the District Master collarette worn by W Bro Ernie Kidd has returned to Killultagh after being uncovered by Bro Kidd’s relatives.

Bro Kidd was reared in the family home at Old Road Ballinderry and joined LOL 147 at 17. He was WM from 1915-1950 a period spanning two world wars and saw the lodge grow to become one of the biggest in the area with over 100 members. In addition he was WDM from 1932-1942.

Two of his sons Reamond and Stanley joined him in the Lodge and his portrait is on a Lambeg Drum dedicated in his memory. Bro Kidd was laid to rest on May 25, 1959, in Middle Church, Ballinderry.
