A total of 20 candidates will seek nine seats on Nenagh MDC

The final results for Downshire West saw the return of Lisburn Council veteran Jim Dillon, topping the poll.

The Ulster Unionist was followed by the DUP’s Allan Ewart and John Palmer, with his own party colleague and recent newcomer to Lisburn City Council, Alexander Redpath taking the last seat but one.

The fifth seat went to Alliance’s Owen Gawith, who was deemed elected having failed to meet the 963-vote quota.

Downshire East remains the last of the Lisburn and Castlereagh electoral areas still to declare today.

James Baird of the UUP was declared elected at the last stage, joining the DUP’s Uel Mackin and Luke Poots in that respect.

Sitting councillor Roy Young of the DUP failed to win election.

The TUV’s Tom Mateer was the latest candidate to be excluded.

It has just been announced the DUP’s Janet Gray has been elected, leaving Christina Dobson NI21 and Alliance’s Aaron McIntyre to chase the remaining seat.
