The Mount Eagles Drive Action Group secured 700 trees of various varieties.
Mr Heading subsequently helped to arrange for a portion of the trees to planted on Council ground.
“This is a good news story involving a hard working community group that is working towards creating a better environment and I applaud their efforts,” said Mr Heading.
“I also want to congratulate the Woodland Trust for donating 700 trees and the local Council for agreeing to having some of the trees planted on their ground.”
