City’s Restaurant Week set to get off to a mouthwatering start

Lisburn Restaurant Week gets off to a mouthwatering start tomorrow (Saturday) with a culinary celebration in Bow Street, Lisburn, between noon and 4pm.

Chefs from some of the area’s top eateries will be carrying out cooking demos every half hour at the LRW Mobile Kitchen in Bow Street, while food sampling will take place from 1pm to 3pm, along with competitions and 
fun activities.

LRW proper runs from June 16-22 at eateries throughout the Lisburn Council area, with more than two dozen pubs, cafes and restaurants in the City, Hillsborough and Moira taking part.

Planned activities include Meet the Chef sessions, cookery demos, themed nights, live music and entertainment, wine-tasting, family nights, charity events, cocktail demos, comedy hours, live auctions and DIY dishes.

Just a small sample of offers include Green Restaurant at Down Royal Park Golf Course with their Football World Cup South American Special, including beer or wine, for £9.50; 2 courses for £10 or main course plus wine/beer for £10, followed by a Family Fun Day 25 Year Celebration next Saturday.

Buy any main course and receive a complimentary drink from The Cardan, Mon-Thurs, 5-7pm, while Del Toro are creating Meal Deal Mayhem with 2 courses and a bottle of wine for only £25 per couple.

Square Bistro have an Around the World Taster Menu next Wednesday – and you can compete to have your recipe cooked by the head chef next Saturday night. For something lighter, try afternoon tea at Belle’s in Moira for £8pp.
