There were celebrations in local schools this week as pupils received their eagerly awaited exam results.

And, on the whole, the news was good for most A-Level students at Lisburn’s main schools.

The principal of Lisnagarvey High School, Mr Jim Sheerin, said: “On behalf of the governors I would like to thank the staff who supported and encouraged students through to these excellent results.”

At Wallace High School, principal Mrs Deborah O’Hare thanked the staff for their dedication and expertise and congratulated the students on their success.

Laurelhill Principal Mr James Martin said: “The College entered pupils in more than fifteen A level or equivalent courses, thirteen out the fifteen had a one hundred per cent pass rate.”

Elizabeth Dickson, Principal of Friends’, said that there was a shared sense of pleasure in the success pupils had enjoyed at A level.

St Patrick’s Principal Dr Seamus Quinn added: “The Governors and staff of St Patrick’s Academy are delighted at the A level results achieved by our pupils this year
