The members of Lisburn Probus Club have once again shown their support for local charity.

At a recent meeting of the Club, held in Lisburn Golf Club, the immediate Past President, Derek McAllister, presented a cheque to Carol Quinn from the Lisburn branch of Riding for the Disabled. In handing over the cheque, Derek explained: “Each year, Probus is committed to raising funds for a charity. I am particularly pleased that this year we are able to support a local charity.”

As part of their programme of activities, Lisburn Probus held a charity auction. Derek thanked members for their support for the auction and for their generosity.

“Probus is pleased to make this donation of funds raised at the auction to Riding for the Disabled. We hope it will contribute to the excellent work that the charity does,” he concluded.

Carol Quinn expressed the gratitude of Riding for the Disabled to the Probus Club. She described some of the charity’s activities and work with children and young people who are disabled.

“It is great to see the young people we work with gain confidence and feel a sense of achievement from being given the opportunity to participate in riding activities,” she emphasised.
