Elizabeth Taggart (49), Gregg House, Gregg Street, Lisburn, was also fined £300 and ordered to pay a £15 offender’s levy.

She admitted being drunk in charge of a car at High Street Mall in Portadown on April 1 this year.

The court heard that when police went to the car park they saw the defendant sitting in a car which had the engine running.

There was a smell of intoxicating liquor on her breath and a preliminary breath test gave a reading of 101. At Lurgan custody suite an evidential test gave a reading of 103.

Taggart was deeply remorseful for her actions and admitted to having a drinking problem. A barrister representing the defendant said her difficulties began when her mother passed away.

He added that Taggart had spent three months in year at Sister Consilio’s in Newry and had an appointment with an addictions clinic.
