SERC students perform well-loved sitcom '˜Allo Allo'

Based on the hugely successful British television series, this comedy relates the adventures of hapless café owner René, in occupied France.

‘Allo Allo’ was produced and choreographed by the Lisburn performing arts students along with their tutors.

The show was originally intended for two nights, however having sold out they held a third night.

As well as learning their lines they also had the responsibility of producing the set and organising the costumes.

A ‘delicious’ three course menu was delivered by the hospitality and catering students, with the Food Beverage students serving to the guests.

Great efforts were also delivered by the theatrical hair and make-up department who ensured the performing arts students were in character.

SERC performing arts lecturer Sarah Collyer said: “The students enjoyed the collaborative element of the project immensely.

“It really gave them an understanding of working to deadlines and the need for effective communication skills.

“It was a great experience for the students to work in this genre of theatre as it challenged them to work in an unfamiliar environment.

“The entire teaching staff were very proud and we would like to thank our colleagues in hospitality and catering, art and design and beauty for an enjoyable experience.”
