Police investigating theft of two tractors and forklift truck

Police investigating the theft of plant machinery from premises in the Comber Road area of Hillsborough have appealed for witnesses to come forward.

Sometime between 1am and 5am on Saturday, August 20 thieves gained access to the property and stole two New Holland tractors and a 30ft Hudson trailer.

Sergeant Eoghan OConraoi said: “I am appealing for anyone with information or anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the area to contact Police. I would also appeal to anyone who may have been offered similar items for sale in suspicious circumstances to contact police at Lisburn Station on 101, quoting reference number 258 of 20/08/16. Alternatively, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”

Meanwhile, police are also appealing for information about the theft of a red 2014 Manitou M130D forklift truck from a yard in the Cross Lane area of Lisburn.

The theft is believed to have occurred sometime between 3pm and 10.30pm on Saturday, July 30, but police only released the details this week.

Investigating officers have appealed for anyone with information about the incident to contact Lisburn Police Station on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 1374 of 30/07/16.
