The suspicious males were challenged but managed to break free and made off in a vehicle.

A spokesperson for the police explained: “One of our eagle eyed members of the public noted down the number plate of the car and checks were carried out in relation to this vehicle, including the address it was registered to. As luck would have it, these burglars had gone straight home and when the property was searched they were found inside. Two arrests were made for burglary and the males taken to custody and interviewed.

“Without the help of the two local men who thought something ‘didn’t look right’ these two males might not have been caught, and maybe your house could have been next.”
