Lisburn resident celebrates 101st birthday

The Mayor Councillor Brian Bloomfield MBE and Mayoress Mrs Rosalind Bloomfield were delighted to visit local resident Gladys Holmes who celebrated her 101st birthday on Tuesday.

The Mayoress presented Gladys with a floral bouquet.

The Mayor said: “We conveyed our best wishes to Gladys and wished her many happy returns. It was good to meet Gladys’ daughter, Helen, and Annahilt Care Home Manager, Naomi Graham.

“I would like to thank Gladys for the warm welcome and the conversation. It is an achievement to reach the grand age of 101 and deservedly was marked in style.

“Rosalind and I would also like to express our thanks to Annahilt Care Home who rolled out the red carpet for Gladys on her special day,” he said.

The Mayor and Mayoress were also pleased to meet with many other residents during their visit
