Joining with pupils at the school on Thursday morning to celebrate their achievements, Stephen Moore said the children and their parents could be “justifiably proud of the high standards that they had achieved.”

“Almost 65 per cent of the grades obtained by pupils were at A* or A, with 89 per cent at grade B or above,” he revealed. “There were many stories of individual success, but it would be impossible to mention each one. However, of particular note were the 40 pupils who gained 10 or more A*s and As and the three pupils who achieved 10 A*s.”

Mr Moore went on to thank the school’s staff for all the “hard work and dedication” that had helped make the exams success possible.
