Award for public health nurse

Janet Taylor, Public Health Nurse with the South Eastern Trust was recently named '˜Public Health Nurse of the Year' at the recent Community Practitioners & Health Visitors Association Awards.

Angela McConvey, School Health Co-ordinator with the Trust was runner up in the ‘School Nurse of the Year’ category.

On receiving her award, Janet said: “I’m completely overwhelmed, shocked, but absolutely delighted. It is indeed a huge honour and I feel quite emotional.

“Although it’s a personal award, I know all the hard work that my colleagues do so it’s lovely.

“My message to other professionals is continue to be inspired. Continue to be passionate about public health.

“Public health nursing is, I believe, the future. Our children and parents, and all the young people we work with depend on us so keep going.”
