A marathon effort sees local charity TinyLife benefitting from £6,500

The blisters and sore legs from the 2016 Coca-Cola Lisburn Half Marathon, 10K Road Race and Fun Run were worth it with £6,500 raised for charity.

The Chairman of Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council’s Leisure and Community Development Committee, Councillor Tim Morrow was delighted to present the cheque.

Money raised through sponsorship raised from the popular running events all in aid of the Mayor’s Charity, TinyLife.

TinyLife is a Charity situated within the Council area, in Carryduff, and is dedicated to the support of premature babies and their families across Northern Ireland.

It offers a variety of helpful and practical expertise, advice and support.

Speaking at the cheque presentation, Councillor Tim Morrow said: “It gives me great pleasure to present this cheque to the Mayor, Councillor Brian Bloomfield MBE and Valerie Cromie from TinyLife.

“Every year, a donation of £1 from each entry fee of the Lisburn Half Marathon, 10K Road Race and Fun Run goes to the official Mayor’s Charity, which this year is TinyLife.
