Local suicide support and awareness group Horizons were recently granted charity status by the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland.

“We are delighted that we can now enter into a new phase of our development, by increasing our outreach programme and provide additional support for those who have been affected by suicide” said Chairman David Edmont.

As a group of people who have been affected personally by suicide Horizons offer mutual informal support and may understand the pain, distress and confusion that individuals and families experience.

Mr Edmont went on to say: “Horizons AGM is being held on Wednesday May 13 at 8pm in Trinity Methodist Church, and I would encourage as many local community groups and family members to attend as we all have a part to play in Suicide prevention and support for those directly affected.”
