Staff at Lamont Cleaning and Support Services showed their bravery when they took the plunge recently for a charity abseil.

The team handled the dizzying heights of the Belfast City Hospital Tower Block on Friday, October 28.

They raised a fantastic £1330 in the process for the Welcome Organisation which help homeless people in Belfast.

Lamont staff are used to being in high places, having cleaned windows on some of Belfast’s tallest buildings, including the Hilton Belfast hotel.

Owner Michael Lamont, from Lisburn told the Star that he decided to raise money for homeless people after meeting a man who was homeless whilst on a trip.

He said: “On a trip to Manchester this year I met a homeless man after a long chat he made me realise how easily any of us could end up homeless.

“Steve was his name & he had lost all of his family then his job and home all in a very short space of time. I then thought I’d like to try to do something for homeless people.”

Lamont Cleaning and Support Services were established in 2006 and provide a wide range of cleaning services.

Michael added: “We are dedicated to the continuous development and improvement of our business and by bringing together committed and capable individuals, investing within them to create teams that will deliver unrivalled levels of customer service and value.”
