The AGM of Lambeg and District Ratepayers Association was recently held at Harmony Hill Presbyterian Church Hall.

The meeting was well attended by people from the area and supported by elected representatives. They heard how the association is campaigning for improvements in the Lambeg area. They have successfully achieved a scheme for first time buyers to purchase houses gifted from the Ministry of Defence in Mountview.

They have had park benches installed in the local park and are also in talks with the council in relation to upgrading Moss Road anti-pedestrian cobbled area. They are working with TransLink to have the Lambeg Halt pedestrian bridge replaced.

The association are working alongside Harmony Hill Community group to campaign for local play facilities.

It will be a busy year ahead, but with the support of the people, political reps and other community groups, the feeling at the meeting was that a lot of improvements can be achieved.
