A fundraising event was held in Temple Golf Club recently in memory of one of the club’s former employees who sadly passed away.
The golf and fun day was held in July and raised a fantastic £8,000 for three charities.
Jordan Kennedy worked part-time at Temple Golf Club from he was aged fifteen until he died, very unexpectedly, in October last year at 22 years of age.
The Club wished to remember Jordan and at the same time, raise funds for Charity.
A Gala Golf and Fun Day was held on 26th July and was attended by celebrities including, Dame Mary Peters, Stephen Watson, Gerry Kelly, Joel Taggart, Liam Beckett, Dean Harrison and Keith Gillespie amongst many others.
A total of £8000.00 was raised from the entrance fee, charity auction and ballot.
Speaking at the event, Dame Mary Peters said: “Jordan was my friend, a loveable young man with his whole life ahead of him who went out of his way to help other people.
“What a wonderful gesture from Temple Golf and Country Club to remember Jordan and raise funds for Charity.”
The £8000.00 was recently distributed to three charities – Ulster Hospital Critical Care Unit, Epilepsy Action and SUDEP (Sudden Unexplained Death in Epilepsy)
