Foodbank to feed the hungry in Portstewart
Causeway Foodbank recently opened its second Satellite Distribution Centre in Portstewart, operating from Portstewart Baptist church on Tuesday mornings from 10am-11am.
The foodbank is part of foodbank charity The Trussell Trust who were recently named ‘Britain’s Most Admired Charity’ at Third Sector’s 2013 charity award ceremony held at Google headquarters in London.

The Trussell Trust runs a 360 strong network of foodbanks across the UK which partner with local churches and communities to provide emergency food to people in crisis.
Causeway Foodbank has three available opening times in the Coleraine area, and is excited to now extend a fourth, much needed service into the Portstewart area.
Recently families in crisis within Portstewart have walked into Coleraine and back again simply to collect an emergency food pack.

New research out today shows that one in five UK parents are struggling to feed their children, and that the budgets of many families reliant on free school meals had been stretched to breaking point over the school holidays.
If you work with families and individuals in the Coleraine area who are struggling to put food on the table or are a statutory, voluntary or community organisation, you could refer families in crisis to get help by becoming an authorised Voucher Distributor.
