THE Mayor, Alderman William Leathem, will hold his Charity Table Quiz on Thursday, February 21, in the Island Hall at Lagan Valley Island.

Entry costs £8 per person or a £40 charge will apply for teams of six people.

The Mayor said: “I hope people will come together and support this event and help raise funds for this worthy charity. I am very grateful to my quizmasters, George McCartney and Michael Richard who are supporting this year’s event and who are the best in the business. I would like to thank Michael and George for sparing their time to support this event and they will make the evening go with plenty of laughs.

“Now that we are well into the New Year I would appeal to local residents and businesses to put together a team of friends, neighbours or colleagues, pit your wits at the quiz and enjoy an evening out, knowing that a charity and local people with learning disabilities will benefit in so many ways,” he concluded.

Proceeds will be in aid of the Mayor’s Charity, Stepping Stones.

Stepping Stones is based at 39 Seymour Street in the City and supports people with a learning disability or learning difficulty to fulfil their individual work potential. The organisation’s objective is to fully integrate persons with learning disabilities and learning difficulties into society.

The Charity runs the Courtyard Coffee Shop, situated at the rear of the Stepping Stones building, which is open to the public and staffed by trainees. Trainees at Stepping Stones also work in its picture framing workshop and the Pink Elephant Cards card-making business, which includes wedding stationery and individual and personalised cards.

Tickets for the charity Table Quiz are available from the Mayor’s Office by telephoning 028 9250 9331 or by emailing mayors.secretary@lisburn.gov.uk
