WHY not indulge in a little ‘me time’ by booking yourself and a friend into one of the new craft workshops at R-Space at The Linen Rooms, Lisburn, 32 Castle Street, scheduled to begin on Saturday, October 27, and running throughout half term and into November.

There are workshops to suit all abilities. Why not try a weekend ‘Introduction to printmaking’, ‘Hand Embroidery’ with resident artist Michelle Stephens or have fun with international artist Rachel Gomme, at the ‘Collaborative Making’ workshop, making and knitting unusual yarns?

“This, our first series of workshops, are a great opportunity to engage in craft and making with some very talented and inspirational artists,” explained R-Space’s Co Director Anthea McWilliams. “We hope participants will find them fun and funky, freeing up their creativity. So please come along and get involved.”

Novice to experienced knitters can learn to knit a lace metallic scarf and for competent crocheters there’s a Crochet Earmuffs workshop (bring along your own yarn and needles if you have some).

Rachel’s first exhibition at R-Space opens on Saturday, November 10, from 11-4pm where you can drop in to watch her ‘Knitting a Rothko’ (exhibition and workshops supported by Arts Council Northern Ireland).

‘Introduction to printmaking’ with artist Lucy Turner will be held on Saturday, October 27, and Sunday 28 from 10am until 4pm and costs £80.
