The Housing Executive has undertaken consultation in answer to residents’ complaints of condensation and damp in flats at the Dales and the Moynes, Seymour Hill, Dunmurry.

Lagan Valley MLA Brenda Hale, who was approached by residents’ groups who have been lobbying since 2005 for improvements to the flats, said: “While there have been repairs to communal lifts the pressing issue of chronic condensation and damp continues to be a serious concern.”

Mrs Hale and Councillor Margaret Tolerton later met NIHE’s Lisburn district manager Aengus Hannaway, who reportedly agreed to assess the flats and offer those most in need a dehumidifier, the Housing Executive to help with running costs.

“NIHE iscarrying out a consultation on the flats,” said Mrs Hale, “and I urge all the residents to complete the questionnaire as a matter of priority, so that informed decisions can be taken going forward.”
