Youth arrested in connection with Derriaghy burglary

Police investigating a creeper-style burglary in the Glenwood Park area of Derriaghy on Thursday, March 30 have appealed for witnesses to come forward.

A car and a number of other items were stolen during the incident, which occurred at around 3am.

Sgt Lockhart said: “A Toyota Corolla car was taken from outside the property and a number of items stolen from inside the house. The car was subsequently found alight in the Barnfield Road area.

“A 16-year-old youth was later arrested on suspicion of a number of offences. He was subsequently released pending a report to the Public Prosecution Service.”

Appealing for witnesses to come forward, Sgt Lockhart added: “Anyone with information should contact police on the non-emergency number 101, quoting the reference number 104 of 30/3/17. Alternatively, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
