Men appear on drugs charges at Banbridge court

Two Lisburn men are among four accused who have been returned for trial to Newry Crown Court on drugs charges.

They are Daniel Robert Johnston (26), Lough Road, Upper Ballinderry, Lisburn, and 36-year-old James McDonnell, Cullmore Gardens, Lisburn,

Standing alongside them in the dock were Brian Joseph Gallagher (30), Broom Park, Dunmurry, and James McDonnell (29), Cullmore Gardens, Belfast.

They appeared at a preliminary enquiry last Thursday at Banbridge Magistrates Court.

All four are charged that on June 10, 2104, they conspired to supply a class A drug, cocaine, possession of cocaine, having a class A drug with intent to supply and knowingly importing a controlled drug.

Gallagher is also charged with trying to pervert the course of justice on June 11, 2014. They were remanded on bail to appear for arraignment at Newry Crown Court on February 8.
