Child in rescue drama was well equipped for emergency

The picture clearly illustrates how well equipped the seven-year-old was, with the safety equipment he was wearing credited with helping him cope in the near deadly situation he found himself in.
Sean was plucked from the icy cold torrent by Tandragee father and son Mike and Zachery Greer.

Hide AdThe youngster’s father had also been in the kayak when the pair were thrown into the water around 12.30pm on Sunday, the father was washed ashore and despite frantic efforts was unable to reach his stricken son who was stuck in the water against a wall at the opposite bank.
Mike Greer had just been getting ready for Sunday lunch when he was alerted to the drama by his daughter Bethany, who also called in the emergency services.
Using tie down cables from his garage Mike and his son Zachery were able to drag the youngster to safety - earning the undying gratitude of Sean’s mother Elaine.
