Aldermen Allan Ewart and Paul Porter have echoed Café Vic-Ryn’s call to local golfers to sign-up and take part in its upcoming charity day at Lisburn Golf Club.
The Café Vic-Ryn Golf Classic is to take place on Friday, September 18 and all proceeds from the event are in aid of Friends of the Cancer Centre.
A fourball for the day is £160 and local businesses also have an opportunity to get involved by sponsoring a hole for £200.
Tee box times will start from 10am and the price includes a round of golf and a presentation dinner that evening.
Alderman Ewart said: “The Café Vic-Ryn Golf Classic is shaping up to be a great day and as well as having fun on the course we’ll also be raising vital funds for a great charity which makes a real difference to the lives of local people affected by cancer.”
Friends of the Cancer Centre, celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, is based at Belfast City Hospital’s Cancer Centre and relies entirely on donations.
All money raised goes towards funding life-saving and life-changing projects within the Cancer Centre, each with a real and lasting impact on patients and their families.
FoCC chief executive Colleen Shaw, said: “Alderman Ewart and Café Vic-Ryn have been great supporters of Friends of the Cancer Centre over the years and we’re delighted that they are again holding what is set to be a great event in aid of the charity.”
