Up to 30 employees at a Lisburn company have lost their jobs.

Lisburn Glass Group Limited has today (Tuesday) been placed into administration, with Gareth Latimer and Stephen Tennant of Grant Thornton appointed Joint Administrators.

The company has traded for many years from a site at Blaris Industrial Estate, Altona Road, Lisburn and employed approximately 30 staff.

Employees were informed of the company’s predicament and told they would be losing their jobs this morning before being sent home.

Gareth Latimer commented: “We have been working with the Directors since the start of the year and reviewed the options available but creditor pressure has increased leaving the Directors with no alternative but to seek the protection of an Administration appointment.”

“The business has ceased trading and all employees have been made redundant.

“We will be carrying out a sales process in order to maximise value for creditors”.
