Moira contractor set to bring 20 jobs

Moira based specialist construction company McMullen Facades is set to bring up to 20 new jobs to the area as part of a new recruitment drive.

Having secured a number of major new contracts across the UK, the company, part of the Lakesmere Group, wants to expand its 80-strong factory team with new fabricators to work in its state-of-the-art manufacturing facility.

Specialising in the manufacture, design and installation of glazing, unitised curtain walling and specialist facades, the company has recently secured a number of prestigious new contracts in the London residential high-rise market with circa £30m of new orders awarded this year to date.

McMullen Facades managing director Ted McMullen said: “With the sure but steady revival of the construction industry, this is a very exciting time for McMullen Facades.

“The company is continuing to go from strength to strength since becoming part of the Lakesmere Group and we have secured a number of prestigious and high value contracts with leading clients.

“We may be operating in the national construction market but we are very much a local company at heart and we are delighted to be able to support our local community and manufacturing industry through the expansion of our production workforce.”

McMullen Facades became part of leading building envelope specialist, the Lakesmere Group in December 2012.

The successful integration between the two companies has helped to build upon McMullen Facades’ 40 year heritage and impressive portfolio of projects which includes the Stirling prize-winning Evelyn Grace Academy in London and Obel, the tallest building in Ireland.

The addition of McMullen Facades’ specialist facade expertise has also established the Lakesmere Group as the only UK-based company to provide the full range of building envelope services.

The company will be holding a series of Recruitment Open Evenings over the coming months.(see page 23).
