Major ‘lift’ in business for local forklift firm

BUSINESS is on the up for a Lisburn company following the announcement that it has secured a deal to provide 10 new forklift trucks for a garden supply company.

Handling & Storage Equipment Company, part of the Alexander Group won the £450,000 order from Westland Horticulture in Dungannon and have delivered the 10 Linde diesel forklift trucks with double pallet handling ability, replacing their old fleet.

Significant

The state-of-the-art diesel trucks will perform a key role in one of the fastest growing garden supply companies in the UK.

Handling & Storage Equipment sells and services both new and used trucks and handling equipment to the industrial and commercial sector across Northern Ireland and Great Britain.

Commenting on the deal, John Wilson at HSE: “We are proud that Westland Horticulture has once again put their faith in us and the Linde product.

“In today’s economic climate such a significant investment in a local, family-run company is valued by everyone on the team - from the service engineers to our sales team on the ground.

“We look forward to continuing a productive relationship with Westland in the future.”

Cliff Cairns, Westland Horticulture said: “We at Westland have many years of positive experience with Handling and Storage Equipment Co. Ltd and the Linde brand.

“Westland is an expanding company with increased pallet movements every year, and we feel this new fleet of Linde fork trucks will improve and insure the smooth running of our loading and general pallet movements,” he continued.

“We also believe these trucks are safer with increased drive visibility, have improved driver comfort and better fuel economy,” concluded Mr Cairns.

HSE is based at Blaris industrial estate, Lisburn, and employs 37 people.
