Lisburn hosts first meeting of new Business Crime Partnership

The first meeting of Northern Ireland’s new Business Crime Partnership Forum took place at Lisburn Civic Centre on Thursday, October 27.

The event was open to all local business owners interested in learning about protecting their business and hearing about key issues such as cyber crime.

Those in attendance included representatives of the PSNI, Lisburn Chamber of Commerce, local banks, Retailers Against Crime NI and the Department of Justice.

The meeting opened with an introduction from Vice Chair of Lisburn and Castlereagh Policing and Community Safety Partnership, Christine McCullough.

PSNI Chief Superintendent Chris Noble gave an overview of the Business Crime Action Plan and Detective Chief Inspector Douglas Grant delivered a presentation on cyber crime.

The presentations were followed by a discussion, led by Aodhan Connolly of the NI Retail Consortium.

Future meetings of the Forum will take place in cities and towns across Northern Ireland.
