A laboratory supplies company in Lisburn has been bought over by the biggest company in its field in Europe.

Analab, with turnover of around £2m, is now part of Yorkshire-based Scientific Laboratory Supplies.

SLS became the biggest independent lab supplies group in Europe after merging with Dominique Dutscher in France.

It said the acquisition was part of ambitious expansion plans for the life sciences, food and drink, and medical technology sectors across Ireland.

The move is said to have already brought new opportunities for Analab, and that more new jobs were likely. The addition of Analab brings group turnover to £42m.
