Lisburn Square is celebrating its first year under new ownership by announcing the arrival of a new tenant.
A completely new venture, Glasshouse Coffee is moving into the central glass unit within the prominent retail destination.
Glasshouse is the latest project of well-known eatery operator David Edwards, who owned the Peppers stores which were located in Belfast on Amelia Street and Boucher Road as well as the immensely popular Granary Café on Ormeau Road. CBRE secured the letting on behalf of Lisburn Square.
His newest offering at Lisburn Square will be a high-end coffee-shop providing healthy options for breakfast and lunch as well as top-quality coffee and other beverages.
David said: “In the past I have had a lot of experience with opening and maintaining successful and popular lunch and coffee shops.
“I have long standing ties with the Lisburn community and I have been following the regeneration of Lisburn Square with great interest since it was taken over by the new owners.
“I saw a great opportunity to start something fresh and join a list of other highly-regarded and popular businesses in the Square.”
Nicky McCollum, development director, Lisburn Square said: “Over the past 12 months, Lisburn Square has been attracting exactly the kind of tenants that we were aiming for.
“High-end independent retailers, restaurants and services have all arrived to put their mark on the scheme.
“David is no exception, he has a strong track-record with this type of business and I have no doubt he will make Glasshouse a success.”
Luke McClelland from CBRE said: “After a fairly quiet summer and some hesitancy on the part of potential tenants due to the referendum, we are now seeing interest in Lisburn Square gaining momentum. The new image of the Square paints it as an attractive prospect for a multitude of businesses.”
Since being taken over, Lisburn Square has welcomed a number of new tenants including Shane Bennett Hair, The Man Shack, Alfredo’s on the Square, Emma Johnston Interior Design and the popular Square Bistro has undergone significant refurbishment.
