Over 80 local businesses attended this popular annual event and heard from Mr Philip Bain, founder of Shredbank and author of the book: ‘Start to Grow’ and Dr. Leah Totton from Dr. Leah Totton Cosmetic Skin Clinics.

Alderman Allan Ewart, former Chairman of the Council’s Development Committee, said: “It was a fitting conclusion to this year’s calendar of networking events to have two high calibre speakers such as Philip and Leah speak of their experiences. Undoubtedly they have much to share with local businesses in terms of leadership development and their unique entrepreneurial journeys.”

Philip Bain spoke about his entrepreneurial journey that began at the young age of 13 and over the years prior to founding ShredBank in 2007 he was involved in developing six start-up companies.

Dr Leah Totten talked through her journey from NHS Junior doctor to cosmetic skincare physician.

Alderman Ewart added: “It was a privilege to hear from these two entrepreneurs who have achieved success through sheer determination, drive and ambition. The council through its local ‘Go for It’ campaign and other specialist business support initiatives offers a wide range of assistance to help local companies achieve their true potential. I would encourage any local company who wishes to lead from the front to contact the council today.”
