A tasty event set to tempt diners was launched this week at the Island Civic Centre with the First Lisburn Restaurant Week due to take place from June 16-22.
Lisburn Mayor, Councillor Margaret Tolerton at the event said, “Lisburn Restaurant Week will give diners an opportunity to sample local hospitality at its very best, garnished with great money-saving and value-added offers.
“Restaurateurs, funders, sponsors and local suppliers are working together to deliver a varied and entertaining week.”
Restaurants, bistros, pubs and cafes will take part in the festival, which is supported by Lisburn City Council and Lisburn City Centre Management.
Some of the activities due to take place are Meet the Chef sessions, cookery demos, themed nights, live music and entertainment, wine-tasting, family nights, comedy hours and live auctions.
At the launch event three talented young chefs who volunteered for a fun Cook-off Challenge, hosted by the LRW 2014 Ambassador, celebrity chef Derek Patterson of The Plough, Hillsborough.
Alderman Allan Ewart, Chair of the Council’s Economic Development Committee, said: “Everyone knows Lisburn is great for shopping – now, we have the opportunity to tell people about our great range of fine dining and informal eateries.
