City firm to create up to 60 new jobs

A Lisburn-based firm which designs and installs automated technology for use by the rich and famous, has announced the creation of up to 60 new jobs.

Clear AV, which recently added a London base to its Lisburn HQ, is currently working on around 45 fast-track installation projects throughout the UK capital, in properties where values range from £10m-£100m.

The company, which began life 25 years ago as an installer of TV Ariel systems, operating from a garage, has begun its new financial year with a multi-million-pound order book and is poised, it says, for its best ever trading year. As MD, Philip Dowds, explained, Clear AV designs and installs bespoke technology that integrates information systems within the fabric of a building.

In the past year Clear AV has invested heavily in training its team.

Said Mr Dowds: “We invest around 25% of our annual profits in training and I believe we have the most knowledgeable team in our sector.

“In recent months our guys have been to California, Las Vegas and Amsterdam for leading-edge training to enable us to harness global best practice.

“Having the best people and training them to be even better is hugely important for us as we seek to deliver on our ambitious plans.”

Mr Dowds said he expected to create up to 60 new jobs by 2020 and grow his pool of contractor support as Clear AV steps up its activities in London.

“We’re a hungry, ambitious and driven team who have been fortunate to work on some of the most prestigious commercial and residential projects in London, especially over the past three years or so.,” he said.

“We are renowned for delivering complex, high-end projects on time, every time; in fact, we have never missed a deadline in more than two decades.

“In order to meet our business goals within our strategic plan we will need the right people who buy into our vision and who want to build a successful long-term career working with some of the most prestigious schemes in the UK.”
