MORE details have emerged about the incident in Lisburn on Tuesday night when a car attempted to force its way through the mini-Twelfth parade in the city centre.
Two girls and a child's buggy were knocked down during the chaos after a car drove the wrong way round the one way system near the Orange arch at around 8.30pm.
The incident happened after police officers attempted to stop what they described as
a suspicious vehicle in the Market Street-Linenhall Street area during the traditional arch opening.
They say the vehicle failed to stop and made off in the direction of the passing parade.
Witnesses say that the car tried to drive up Market Street in an attempt to avoid police and when it was stopped and could not get through the parade two people got out and tried to get away.
The witnesses say they were apprehended by a number of band members.
The police arrived quickly and they were able to take control of the situation.
It is believed a third person was arrested in the car.
Local MLA Edwin Poots said he had spoken to a number of people who had witnessed the incident which, he said 'was very dangerous'.
He said he intended speaking to the police about the circumstances surrounding the incident.
"This was a situation which could have had serious consequences," he said. "I have questions about how the car came to be there which I will be taking up with the police.
"I am just relieved no-one was seriously hurt."
