The 30-year-old who previously held the record in 2003 after a 58 hour stint at the skins beat the record at 10.30pm on Friday night, but amazingly he played on until around 3.40pm on Saturday afternoon to smash the old record of 85 hours and 30 minutes.
Stephen McLaughlin of Music Matters says Allister is "the new record holder.
"He has played over over 100 hours which is incredible. We just can't believe it. Reaching the landmark of 10.30pm on Friday was one thing but how he managed to play on to Saturday is something else.
"I didn't think he would make it, I thought he would have to stop early on Saturday morning but he was spurred on by the fact family were flying in from Florida and on their way to Lisburn and he waited until they arrived before finally setting down the sticks.
"He really was drained, but managed to thank everyone for their support before heading off for a very long rest. We are all thrilled for him and this will be a record anyone will find hard to beat.
Music Matters in Railway Street in Lisburn was packed with well wishers to celebrate his achievement.
The current record was set by American Link Logen last month and Allister aims to shatter it by playing for 100 hours.
Allister's attempt got under way on Monday and as well as setting a new record he aims to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
To break the record he had to play recognisable tunes and not repeat any song within four hours. For each hour he plays he is allowed a five minute break.
Allister, a draughtsman for Fabrite Engineering, said it would be the last time he would undertake such a challenge.
