PRESIDENT Una Tallon, after greeting everyone to the October meeting of Moira WI, thanked members who helped with the catering at the Food and Flower Festival held in Moira. Suzanne McConville was congratulated on her highly recommended floral entry.
A minute's silence was observed in memory of Mrs Ella Peyton who died in September.

In preparation for our 60th Anniversary in November the minutes of the first meeting were read and significant events since then, both amusing and poignant, were recalled thanks to diligent research by Una Tallon.

A hilarious sketch about two locals in 1949 debating joining this new venture and "whether it would last?" was played by Jackie Brown and Audrey Dillon followed by a sing-song of speciality adapted items led by Jackie.

Competition for oldest teapot was won by Elizabeth Logan. Birthday girl was Freda Tallon.
