Give the gift at Christmas

THE festive period is the busiest time of the year for British Heart Foundation (BHF) Northern Ireland Shops and this year your heart charity is appealing for volunteers in Lisburn and the surrounding area to lend a hand to make a real difference this Christmas.

The BHF Northern Ireland shop in Bow Street, Lisburn, plays a vital part in the fight against heart disease. The local shop needs 40 extra hours help per week over the Christmas period, so any time that local people can spare will be greatly appreciated.

BHF Northern Ireland has 11 shops, so there is a lot to do! The Lisburn shop has roles available to suit everyone. From merchandising the large range of Christmas gifts to selling Christmas cards; window dressing and helping with the Christmas raffle, the shops are keen to hear from people who have a few hours to spare.

Michelle McIlwrath, Area Manager BHF Northern Ireland Shops, said: “The contribution our volunteers make is extraordinary – we simply couldn’t run our shops without their support. There are so many great opportunities available in our shops this Christmas - I’d really like to encourage people in Northern Ireland to make a huge difference by giving the gift of time. Whether you can spare a couple of hours or a couple of days a week we’d love to hear from you. Your support is vital to us.”
