Local family launch debut album

A LOCAL Lisburn family have launched their debut album.

The group who go under the name of ‘Murphy & Co’, consist of Anna and Alex Murphy, as well as sons Paul and David.

Their debut album, entitled ‘Love Is’, “weaves a thread of honest and relevant reflection on themes of love, faith and hope.”

Previously Alex and Anna sang as a duo. Paul has been a member of the Songwriters Circle in Lisburn and has performed alongside Duke Special and other local talent on a ‘BBC Music Live’ broadcast, and for years David has been encouraging young people in singing and drama through his role as a youth leader. From Anna’s Folk tinged Gospel anthems to Alex’s new Country vibe, David’s Soul and Paul’s Alternative Country, there should be something for everyone.

Songs from the album have been played on local radio shows including Brian D’Arcy on Radio Ulster, who has described ‘Love Is’ as an “inspirational album”, and on the George Jones show on Downtown where George described Paul’s song ‘Lifeboat’ as an “excellent piece of songwriting.”

The group would like to hear from local bass players and other instrumentalists to join with them for special events. Any musicians interested in playing with the group or finding out more should contact 9261 0634.

The album ‘Love Is’ is available now on CD format from Faith Mission bookshops, their family run music shop A.A Music and to download from iTunes. Follow ‘Murphy & Co’ on Facebook, or for further information contact A.A Music on 028 9261 0634.
