LOCAL Lisburn artist Alison McKnight has been appointed as the new artist in residence at Belfast International Airport.

With over 30 years experience in her field Alison is a well-respected and versatile artist.

She is also the mother of a rising international golfer and Alison has combined her love of landscapes with her own passion for the game by creating a striking contemporary collection of paintings depicting golf courses in Northern Ireland and further afield.

Alison’s paintings will be displayed in the airport’s business lounge where passengers and staff alike can view them and also purchase them if they wish to.

Speaking at the launch of her business lounge exhibition, Alison said, “I am delighted to be given this opportunity to showcase my work. I want to thank the airport for this incredibly exciting platform to exhibit these paintings that really show of the beauty of Northern Ireland.

Deborah Harris, the airport’s public relations manager said, “Thousands of passengers pass through the airport’s business lounge every year and we believe this is a great opportunity to show off some of the Northern Ireland’s stunning scenery so perfectly captured in Alison’s paintings. Many of our business passengers are also keen golfers and we are sure Alison work will appeal greatly to them as they relax in the lounge before heading off on their journey.”
