BALLINDERRY Primary recently marked the retirement of its school secretary.

Mrs Vera Myles started working in the school as secretary in October 1984 and an evening was held in the school on Monday December 17 to mark her retirement after 28 years.

Musical items from the choir, guitar group, instrumentalists, and solos from pupils and staff were performed.

Mrs Magowan, Principal, told the audience that Mrs Myles was held in great affection and esteem by staff and pupils and would be sorely be missed by all.

Everyone wished Mrs Myles a happy and much deserved retirement and she was presented with gifts of a picture and silver watch from staff, Waterford crystal and a travel voucher from parents and an arrangement of flowers from the school governors.”
